I absolutely love these, so much to teach our little ones in a very attractive, compact box! The names of God is my favorite section!!!
So excited for our family to use these! They were recommended by a friend, and I am impressed!
First of all, overall, I loved this set. What a wonderful way to teach truth to children. My son has been so engaged as we go through these cards during our morning devotional time. There is some repetition between the cards; for example, each set offers the same response for letter Q. I wish there had been more variety here, but it's still worth it. My biggest concern, and it is very serious, is the teaching / definition of the word "Repentance" in the Theology set. Instead of using the biblical definition as defined by the Greek (one example is "metanoia," a change of mind or change in the inner man) or even the breakdown of the word itself ("pent"= "think" and "re"="again," or "think again") they offer the typical modern American version of tell God you're sorry for your sin and commit to walk away from sin and towards obedience. The problem is, biblical repentance can lead to salvation as we understand that we are sinners and go from unbelief to belief in Jesus and His death on our behalf, His burial & resurrection. But unbiblical "being sorry for sins and committing to walk away from sin & be obedient" does not save us. It can help us grow in our walk after salvation, but to teach this faulty definition of repentance in a theological context creates confusion and leads to a false gospel. How sorry must I be before I can be saved? Have I been sorry enough for my sin? What about when I still sin? What about sin I forgot? Have I committed enough to walk away from sin? What if I have failed to perfectly obey? It adds to the gospel to include this kind of definition, so I do not recommend the "Repentance" card in the theology deck.
I love how informative and descriptive it is. I also love how it gives cross reference scripture to what each letter and word is associated with. my grandbaby is four and she is on the mild autism spectrum. I read these to her and she loves them, but it only holds her attention for about five minutes and then she’s ready to move on. I feel like she gets older and her mind matures and grows, she will understand the cards a little better
